Personal Injury Lawyer Scoops the New York Times

Alexanderinjury scooped the New York Times 17 months ago when we published “A Stronger Economic Stimulus” in February 23, 2009 -– a proposal to use the tax laws to create jobs across the economy.

Fighting a Bad Faith Insurance Company

Many insurance companies do not treat claims made against their insured as the law requires. By doing everything possible to avoid paying legitimate claims the company puts its customers at risk.  It’s called acting in bad faith.

Under the law, every contract of insurance carries the requirement that both the insured and the insurance company act in good faith to fulfill their responsibilities.

Although acting in bad faith is clearly illegal, the practice is not uncommon.

Pickup driver dies in Sunnyvale crash, two teens injured

July 12–One woman died and two teenage girls were taken  when two cars collided at a Sunnyvale intersection Sunday morning.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, a white pickup traveling south on Bernardo Avenue was hit by a sedan that had been traveling west on Remington Drive, as reported by Capt. Douglas Moretto of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. The pickup rolled over and its driver was killed as a result of a partial ejection. (more…)

Death By Cell Phone

A driver talking on a handheld cell phone threatens everyone on the road with severe personal injuries and wrongful deaths.

A study by Harvard University in 2003 estimated that drivers distracted by cell phones caused 330,000 car accidents, thousands of spinal cord injuries and brain injuries, and 2,600 wrongful deaths a year. (more…)

Baseball Helmets Fail To Protect Batters Against Traumatic Brain Injuries

Across the United States and around the world, millions of children and adults are playing baseball, and almost all of them are stepping up to the plate with unsafe batting helmets that don’t offer enough protection against brain injuries.  There has been recent talk about banning aluminum bats because they add approximately 4 mph to the speed of a hit ball and make it harder for a pitcher to avoid injury.  Pitchers are at risk, but that risk is extremely low compared to batters.
