A 27-year-old man from San Bruno was killed early Saturday morning when he crashed his motorcycle on Highway 101 in San Francisco, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident occurred just after 1 a.m. when an as yet unidentified man crashed a Suzuki sport bike while traveling south toward the transition to eastbound Interstate 80. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash, which temporarily shut down Highway 101 between Octavia Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue. A motorcyclist was killed this morning in a collision on southbound Highway 101 near San Tomas Expressway. According to the Highway Patrol they began receiving reports just before 6 a.m., of motorcyclist down in the slow lane of 101 just south of San Tomas Expressway, according to Officer Peter Van Eckhardt. Witnesses told the CHP that the motorcycle appeared to be totaled. Two lanes of Highway 101 were closed for about three hours as officers investigated the fatal collision. A motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon after driving off a cliff in unincorporated Santa Clara County near Milpitas a California Highway Patrol officer said. The accident was reported at about 12:30 p.m. on Calaveras Road near Felter Road, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said. For reasons yet unknown, the motorcyclist went off the roadway and died after falling 30 feet down a roadside cliff, Anderson said. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident. No other information as to the identity of the rider was available according to Officer Anderson. FREMONT — Police are searching for a 36-year-old parolee from the Los Angeles area as the suspect in what they said was an attempt Monday to murder a motorcycle officer. Alexander Diaz was identified as the man police believe was driving a stolen delivery van Monday that accelerated and crashed into Officer Patrick Brower, pushing both the officer and his motorcycle across two lanes of traffic before pinning them against a metal lightpole. San Jose- Samuel Ventura 63 of San Jose was killed Thursday in a motorcycle accident in San Jose, police said. The accident occurred around 8:20 a.m. on northbound Almaden Expressway and Branham Lane, according to San Jose police. At the time, the motorcyclist was riding a Harley Davidson behind a white pickup truck, Officer Jose Garcia said. As the truck slowed down and started to turn right into the parking lot of a business, the motorcyclist swerved to the right of the truck, lost control and skidded, driving through a wooden fence and into a curb, Garcia said. MARTINEZ — A motorcycle accident this morning in Martinez resulted in major injuires and forced the closure of eastbound lanes of Highway 4 this morning, the California Highway Patrol said. It is unclear whether any other vehicles were involved in the incident, reported about 7:50 a.m. near Morello Avenue, the CHP said. The rider was not breathing immediately after the crash, the CHP said, but his exact condition was not immediately known. The two left lanes were closed to allow access for emergency vehicles, but they have since opened one lane, leaving the far-left lane still closed.
